The technology to deliver (cheese)
We have managed to obtain an interview with CEO of New London Cheese LLC who is the visionary behind the merger between Pwop Productions. Many are asking what a professional podcasting and audio services company could offer to a major dairy consumer goods company. The answer will surprise you.
The CEO of New London Cheese LLC, who prefers to just be called Dr. X, came up with the idea last month while he was pulling down the latest podcast from Mondays. It seems Dr. X was suffering from a serious case of the 'munchies', and didn't have any of his quality cheese on hand. He did however, have a lot of computing hardware and technical know-how.
Me: So Dr. X, what exactly was your thought process on this idea you had?
Dr. X: I was like, man I could really go for some cheese right now. I got to get me some cheese. But all I had was an Internet connection and an RSS aggregator. I was pulling down Mondays via RSS enclosures and I thought: "Why only enclose audio files? I could enclose that block of cheese I have in the server room." So I logged into our server, modified our dairy RSS feed to enclose that block of cheese, and pulled down the cheese via my RSS aggregator. It tasted great.
Me: Man, that is a revolutionary idea. Why didn't I think of that?
Dr. X: Well, I like to keep my mind loose with a strict regimen of drugs, alcohol, and cheese. There are a lot of threads in the ol' doctor-eeno's head.
Me: So with the acquisition of Pwop, what are your plans for the future?
Dr. X: For now we plan to continue distribution of our dairy products the standard way using shifty looking programmers, but we will begin offering our dairy products directly to user's computers via RSS later this month, and hope to phase out of physical delivery by the end of the year. We are also in the process of licensing our CheeseFeed© technology to other dairy farms.
With the birth of this amazing new technology, we have to ask ourselves, what else does the future hold for RSS?
